Curt Mease has always been an avid collector, first of stamps in grade school, and later by earning money as a teenager selling beer cans at flea markets to buy silver bars and silver dollars. Eventually, in high school, Curt traded his stamp collection for one of his first gold coins, an 1834 half eagle. Since then he has been involved in various aspects of numismatics and financial professions. In the 1980's, Curt worked for Stephen Gehringer of Keystone Coin & Stamp Exchange in Allentown Pennsylvania, while selling at local antique markets and trade shows independently on the weekends. In the late 1980's, Curt left Keystone to pursue his undergraduate degrees, while maintaining a booth at Renningers' Antique Market in Kutztown, as well as continued to set up at local trade shows for: U.S. Coins & Papermoney; Antique & Estate Jewelry; U.S. Wrist & Pocket-watches; Antique Weapons; Transportation Toys; and Civil War Era Hard Images. He also worked for a local metallurgist during this time, recovering and processing precious metals in all forms. In his other life as a Financial Advisor, Curt has earned his B.A. in Financial Economics from Moravian College, as well as his post-baccalaureate degree in Accounting, and is pleased to be only one class away from finishing his MBA. He has worked as an Annuity Specialist for the Guardian Insurance & Annuity Company, a Financial Consultant for PNC bank, and became an Independent Registered Investment Advisor with the NASD for Mass Mutual Financial Group. Curt is happy to return to the profession he grew up in - numismatics, and he will attend most major shows throughout the United States with Tangible. He eagerly looks forward to discussing auction consignments with dealers and collectors alike. A former Civil War buff, his primary area of interest is mid to late 19th century U.S. type coins. When he's not working with coins, Curt spends his time adjusting to life in Southern California, primarily by enjoying the great outdoors. He enjoys running, biking, hiking, wine tasting, dining out, and traveling in general.
